Carter and Friends Holiday Pottery Market

So…….

Another sale this weekend at the olde homestead. That’s 572 Nantahala ave in Athens GA for those who need to know.

This year I will again be joined by stalwart potter friends Geoff Pickett, Juana Gnecco, and Jeff Bishoff.

There will be a selection of my own lovely pots:

The ‘kids’ section where I do my best to sell small pots to small people for small prices:

Amelia on the front left is hamming it up because I saw them in roughly this pose and asked them to stay put while I ran to get my camera!

What Geoff has to bring, similar to these pots I’m sure:

What Juana has left from her sales this past weekend. Things like:

So if you happen to be local Athens area pottery lovers please stop on by! The sale is both Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The weather is once again supposed to be fine, the pots are nice, and the potters are all nice folks too. Come on out and say “hello”! Bring your children, bring your parents! Bring your neighbors, bring your friends! All are welcome. Pets too (within reason).

Shop local! Shop handmade!

Peace all!

Make beauty real!

About Carter Gillies

I am an active potter and sometime pottery instructor who is fascinated by the philosophical side of making pots, teaching these skills, and issues of the artistic life in general. I seem to have a lot to say on this blog, but I don't insist that I'm right. I'm always trying to figure stuff out, and part of that involves admitting that I am almost always wrong in important ways. If you are up for it, please help me out by steering my thoughts in new and interesting directions. I always appreciate the challenge of learning what other people think.

“small pots to small people for small prices” – now you’re getting the hang of this marketing thing! That’s so perfect I’d print it on a t-shirt.

Some really great looking pots…all three of you! Wish I was closer and had a pet(within reason) to go with me…
    Hope its gangbusters!

    • Thanks Kyle!

At least the weather will be nothing to complain about for an outdoor sale in Jawjah. Expected highs are 70 and 75, almost Springlike. (Is it too early to be thinking about Spring?) Nothing like the Wintery conditions up in PA. Not that I’m getting old or anything, but I don’t really miss the cold weather of my early stomping grounds in Philly and CT.

Hope the season treats you kindly! And good luck in all your own holiday pottery transacting!

      Carter
